Hello & welcome to Becoming Balanced <3  My name is Alexis, and I am pleased to be the Billing Specialist here! I joined the team at the end of January 2023 after a little bit of a work hiatus (no fault of my own) and was excited to jump right in to help transition Becoming Balanced from out of house billing to in house billing! My office is right up front to the left if you ever have any questions about your bill or claims, my door is always open! I have worked in Medical billing for 5+ years specializing in claims submission and revenue cycle management. I enjoy solving the “puzzles” insurance throws my way and the problem-solving aspect of my job! The best part is I get to come in to a work environment that prides itself in the health, relaxation, and comfortability of their people! You’ll often find me in sweatpants & tee shirts along with a dark ambient office – what better way is there to work?!

I am from Fargo and stayed close to home to be near family. I come from a large family of 11 siblings. My family has adopted and fostered many children of all different backgrounds / experiences in my lifetime. It has taught me to be grateful for the opportunities I have and to treat everyone with compassion because you never know what they go home to at night. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Trevor. We have three beautiful cats: Mace, Ellie, and Luci; as well as a curly hair tarantula named Elvira! Our pets keep us pretty busy and we collect many indoor houseplants to keep the green foliage around us during the harsh winters. In the summer we enjoy gardening, hiking, and enjoying being outside in Mother Nature while we can!

I originally went to school for Cosmetology. Although doing hair wasn’t a perfect fit for me, I finished out the program top of my class. I then went to a makeup school in Minneapolis to become a professional makeup artist. I freelanced for many years in the summers until COVID brought us a little bit extra of a challenge in the makeup artistry world.  I shifted my artistic abilities elsewhere in order to do my craft at home including sculpting & creating oddities. All the while gaining experience in the Medical Billing field full time. I am now an Amateur Taxidermist / Entomologist exploring the art of bone preservation, butterfly mounting, and antique restorations. I collect and deal antiques as well as using them in my handmade art. I’ve started a business called Botanic Panic Vintage (InstagramFacebook) and sell my art / antiques @ Fargo Antiques & Repurposed Market right off 52nd street in Fargo.

I am so excited to be here and provide all the billing needs!
