SHE/HER/HERS

Hi, welcome to Becoming Balanced! I'm so glad you're here and considering therapy. I believe people don't just need therapy, they deserve it. Everyone should have the opportunity to sit with someone supportive and non-judgmental and say whatever is on their mind. My therapy style is relaxed and collaborative. I believe you know yourself best and are capable of making changes, my job is to provide the space for that, along with some tools to help support your healing process.
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Dakota and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Minnesota. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of North Dakota in 2014, and I joined Becoming Balanced in 2024. I have experience working with all ages across a variety of settings, including in-home family therapy, integrated health therapy embedded in primary care, and outpatient therapy. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the foundation of my approach, though I draw from other modalities to tailor treatment to each client's needs.

I have a particular passion for working with older adults, helping them navigate the many changes that come with that stage of life, as well as working with women who have ADHD. I love supporting moms by validating the everyday struggles of parenting and helping them find creative ways to build balance into chaotic lives. Other areas I enjoy working in include anxiety and depression, perinatal mental health, chronic health conditions, young adults, grief and loss, burnout and stress, self-esteem, and relationship struggles.

Outside of work, I'm a wife and mom of two young children. They take up most of my time these days, but I'm always working on finding a bit more balance myself. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being at the lake in the summer or out in nature, watching TV, and listening to podcasts and audiobooks. When I have time, I love being creative and learning new things.

I know starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you're not sure what to expect. Therapy looks different for everyone, since we all have unique needs. Whether you want to learn skills to manage everyday stressors, work through difficult situations and emotions, or simply want someone to listen and validate what you're going through, I'll work with you to build a treatment plan and provide a safe space to work toward your goals.

I look forward to meeting you, hearing your story, and supporting you on this journey.
