Rachel Blumhardt, MEd, LPCC, LPC, NCC
Welcome to Becoming Balanced. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in North Dakota and Minnesota, and a Licensed Professional Counselor-Mental Health (LPC-MH) in South Dakota providing therapy services here at Becoming Balanced. In addition, I am a North Dakota and Minnesota Certified and Approved Counselor Supervisor. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Sociology from Minnesota State University Moorhead and my Master of Education in Counseling and Guidance from North Dakota State University. I have been working in the Fargo-Moorhead community providing counseling and clinical supervision for 18 years and counting. I am certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) for trauma. I am passionate about helping women heal from trauma as well as assisting them in having the best possible quality of life whether they are struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationship issues, or other mental health conditions.
Much of my clinical experience has been working with adults individually and as couples in an outpatient clinic setting. I facilitate CPT women’s trauma treatment groups as well, so if that is something that you are interested in let us know! I gravitate towards Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as a Humanistic Person-Centered Approach. My goal is to meet you where you are at and support you in finding balance mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I have familiarity in providing Employee Assistance Program counseling and offering individuals the tools they need to balance their work and home roles. I have been conducting counseling on the computer using telehealth since 2011 and can easily work with you at the office or from home insurance permitting anywhere in ND, MN, or SD! I have over 10 years’ experience in providing clinical supervision to newly licensed counselors and enjoy supporting the next generation of therapists achieve their clinical and licensure goals.
I am born and raised in the Fargo-Moorhead area and live quite happily with my husband, two children, and two Schnauzers. I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family, and I am actively engaged in raising our two amazing children and participating in all the varied activities they are involved in. Self-care for me includes reading Science Fiction and Fantasy novels, spending time with my family watching the latest superhero movie, gaming with my husband on the weekends, or tent camping at one of the many State parks in the area.
Helping women, providing them light in the darkest of times, assisting them heal from past and current trauma, giving them tools to improve their today and tomorrow is what provides me joy. It is a privilege and honor to join with my clients in their mental health healing journey, and I hope to assist you in yours.
