SHE/HER/HERS

Hello and welcome to Becoming Balanced! Making the decision to work on your mental health is not an easy path and I am grateful for the opportunity to join you on this journey. My passion for counseling is fueled by being able to create a safe place for women to explore and grow in their mental health. My goal as a counselor is to create a place where women can learn about and discuss their mental health concerns as well as learn tools to implement in your life. I enjoy working with women who are struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, or other mental health concerns and stressors that arise during various phases of life.

As for my counseling credentials, I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in North Dakota and have been providing counseling services in the Fargo-Moorhead area since 2018. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Concordia College and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science as well as my Master’s degree in Counseling and Student Affairs from Minnesota State University Moorhead. In regard to my counseling approach, I typically work with strategies of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and utilize a Person-Centered Approach in order to meet you where you are.
In addition to my role as a counselor, I am also a dog mom, self-proclaimed “cool aunt” of two nephews, and a Starbucks regular. I am originally from Fargo and have enjoyed growing up here…I say “uffda” a lot! I am lucky enough to have my family in the area and greatly enjoy spending time with them as well as being with my small group of close friends. I enjoy the summer and often spend my time being outside with my dog Harvey, going on walks, and being at the lake with my family and friends. Sports are also a big part of my life, especially tennis as I was a college tennis player and continue to try and play weekly! I also enjoy watching baseball and hockey as well as playing some golf and cycling.

Specialties:
Sports Counseling
Sports have always been an important part of my life and fueled my passion for working with athletes. My involvement as an athlete and coach helped shape my understanding of the support athletes need in and out of their sport. I received a certificate in Sports Counseling from the California University of Pennsylvania to better serve athletes, providing a counseling space where athletes can grow in a holistic manner, focusing on mental wellbeing and psycho-emotional needs. My approach to working with athletes in the realm of sports counseling is to focus on the athlete as a whole person, understanding the unique demands they face in the context of their sport. My goal is to help athletes not only perform on the field or court, but to perform as a whole person!

Premarital Counseling & Wedding Stress Management
Getting married is an exciting time and a major transition in a relationship. My goal is to provide practical premarital classes to couples which deliver valuable skills for navigating the ups and downs of marriage. I want to help couples feel confident in their ability to work together as a team in their marriage before they walk down the aisle. There are a variety of services I am offering to help individuals and couples plan for their wedding day and their life together including premarital skill building classes and workshops, personalized officiating, wedding stress management workshops, and wedding weekend sessions. I am grateful to help individuals and couples feel prepared for their wedding day and navigate marriage together as partners.
