SHE/HER/HERS
Andrea Rognlien, MS, LPCC
Hello and welcome to Becoming Balanced! Making the decision to work on your mental health is not an easy path, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to join you on this journey. My passion for counseling is fueled by being able to create a safe place for women to explore and grow in their mental health. My goal as a counselor is to create a space where women can learn about and discuss their mental health concerns, as well as build tools to implement in their lives. I enjoy working with women navigating anxiety, depression, grief, or other mental health concerns and stressors that arise during various phases of life.
As for my credentials, I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in North Dakota and a Licensed Professional Counseling (LPC) in Minnesota. I’ve been providing counseling services in the Fargo-Moorhead area since 2018, and I joined Becoming Balanced in 2021. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Concordia College, a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science, and my Master's degree in Counseling and Student Affairs from Minnesota State University Moorhead. In terms of my counseling approach, I typically draw on strategies from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and a Person-Centered Approach, so I can meet you where you're at.
In addition to my role as a counselor, I'm also a dog mom, self-proclaimed "cool aunt" of two nephews, and a Starbucks regular. I'm originally from Fargo and have enjoyed growing up here, and yes, I say "uffda" a lot! I'm lucky enough to have my family in the area and love spending time with them, along with my small group of close friends. I look forward to summer every year, spending time outside with my dog Harvey, going on walks, and being at the lake with family and friends. Sports are also a big part of my life, especially tennis, I was a college tennis player and still try to play weekly! I also enjoy watching baseball and hockey, along with playing golf and cycling.
Specialties
Sports Counseling
Sports have always been an important part of my life and fueled my passion for working with athletes. My experience as both an athlete and coach helped shape my understanding of the support athletes need, both in and out of their sport. I received a certificate in Sports Counseling from California University of Pennsylvania to better serve athletes, providing a space where they can grow holistically, focusing on both mental wellbeing and psycho-emotional needs. My approach centers on the athlete as a whole person, taking into account the unique demands they face in the context of their sport. My goal is to help athletes not only perform on the field or court, but thrive as whole people.
Premarital Counseling and Wedding Stress Management
Getting married is an exciting time and a major transition in any relationship. My goal is to offer practical premarital classes that give couples valuable skills for navigating the ups and downs of marriage. I want couples to feel confident in their ability to work as a team before they even walk down the aisle. I offer a variety of services to help individuals and couples prepare for their wedding day and their life together, including premarital skill-building classes and workshops, personalized officiating, wedding stress management workshops, and wedding weekend sessions. I'm grateful to help individuals and couples feel prepared for their wedding day and equipped to navigate marriage as true partners.
