Everything you need to know for telehealth

Here is everything you need to know for telehealth appointments with Becoming Balanced.  We are offering TELEHEALTH ONLY until the end of March 2020 and likely longer.  In order to participate in telehealth services, there are a few things you need to do:
  • You must have a WiFi connection and use a device with a camera and microphone (smartphones, tablet, desktop computer, laptop).  Sometimes the software will work if you are using data only on your phone but it works better if on WiFi.
  • You must activate the Patient Portal through Kareo.  This is how the link to the telehealth session will be sent to you.  Please check your email for the invitation to activate the Portal.
  • You will be sent an Informed Consent document through Kareo specifically for telehealth that needs to be submitted before your telehealth appointment as well as additional questionnaires you get at each visit.
  • Please try out the website before your scheduled session to ensure all of your equipment is working properly.  The web browsers to use are: Firefox, Google Chrome, or Safari.  Make sure you have updated to the latest version of the web browser.
  • Please log in a few minutes early to your appointment.  There will be an online waiting room for you and we will begin the call when we are ready.
Things to keep in mind about telehealth:
  • It is important to have a quiet, private area to engage in the session.
  • You will be asked to verify your location and other information at the beginning of each and every session.
  • We will be using a HIPAA compliant telehealth service so your information will remain protected and confidential.
